I am inspired by the notion that "no body" is "every body". The idea that we all share this collective human experience and simultaneously embody our own unique lived experience. Living as an artist has been a path forward, seeing life itself as an art practice. My creative practices are my outlet, a way of investigating and interpreting the world around me to explore perspectives and create meaning.

Embodiment is an avenue for my creative practice. Rather than thinking and reasoning the way to answers, I feel authentic as a somatic artist using the body as a medium, vessel, and container to express, interpret, and discover.

I’m interested in using a question or concept as a launch pad to guide the creative process. With a background as a multimedia artist, I often resonate with dance and movement, using the body as form to connect to time and space.  When I can’t find the words or image to portray what I am trying to say, I turn to dance knowing that it needs to be felt, sensed, and embodied.

I enjoy creating shared experiences and building community. Social practice is the foundation of my work. Connecting and collaborating with others brings me joy. I am drawn to working with people across all generations who have a wide range of backgrounds and life experiences– from teaching dance classes at the local preschool to working with high school students, or facilitating an adult beginner dance class to working with professional dancers.

I am called by my creative practice to cultivate meaningful connections. To be, to witness, to hold space, to question, to feel, to sense, to move, to listen, to share, to empower, to heal, and to love.
